Job Title: Project Engineer Lvl. I
Directive: Responsible for the engineering of assigned projects to ensure engineering delivery occurs on time and within budget. Level I: Work under the direct supervision of other Engineers or Engineering Manager. Work to demonstrate skills and expertise to move up to Engineer Level II.
Duties: Tasks include the following: CAD, engineering drawings, filing, ongoing project analysis, submittals, sequence of operation, points list and I/O sheets, project timelines, customer communications, follow-up, reporting and turnover. Other duties as directed.
Minimum Requirements: Person must have some basic knowledge engineering. Human resource skills are a huge plus. Must have minimal proficiency with AutoCAD/ Visio, Excel and Word. Pay: Commensurate with experience.

BAS Programmer
Supervisor: BAS Programming Manager
Division: Construction
Job Title: BAS Programmer
Directive: To implement software code and manage all aspects of the software code delivery and commissioning for projects. This is the entry level of BAS Programming.
Duties: Manage and direct the programming activities of each project assigned to ensure delivery of services occur on time and within budget. Tasks include programming, working closely with engineering to provide the intended sequence of operation, working within project timelines, friendly customer communications, follow-up, reporting and turnover. Each Programmer must work with and oversee the Graphic Engineer assigned to each of his/her projects. Provide Quality Assurance and Review of the graphics of each project. Additional activities to include:
- Regular status meetings and reports to management
Minimum Requirements: Requires basic knowledge of building operations (HVAC, Security, or Fire systems, network layout, communications). Basic knowledge of all aspects of automation required with emphasis on programming, and software implementation. Should be familiar with Microsoft Project, Excel and Word. Experience with C++, Java, XML, Visual Basic, or relational databases is a major plus.

Sales
The Sales Division is responsible for how the company is perceived from within and without, how our website and advertising looks, and what affiliations we keep. The salesmen are responsible for selling plan & spec control systems, direct-to-owner control systems, existing building retrofit control systems, upgrades to existing control systems, building analytics SaaS packages, access control and CCTV camera systems, and Digital Video Recorders. We have multiple products to choose from, and decades of experience in helping you select the right product to suite your specific needs.
IT Department
We speak IT! Our IT department sets ESI apart from all other Building Automation Control contractors. With the ever evolving complexity of building automation system technology, our IT staff stays ahead of the curve through factory and developer training courses and seminars in emerging technologies, attending training sessions throughout the continental United States. They are IT Certified Engineers and Programmers with decades of experience in networking and computer systems, who apply that knowledge to the Building Automation Industry. They are responsible for workstation & server configuration, as well as integrating network components into our customer’s existing infrastructures. When our clients IT staff coordinate’s with ESI’s IT experts, you can rest assured they are speaking the same language!
Programming & Graphics
Our Programming and Graphics team will write, test, and install all building automation control software, drawing and animating the graphical user interface for a seamless end user experience. We also complete systems integration with various industry standard languages and protocols, such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and more.
Field
Our field technicians are the backbone of the company. With the vast majority of our projects installed using in-house labor, it is the responsibility of our skilled labor force of field technicians to man projects and install automation systems as designed by our engineering staff. Project Managers work in and out of the office, order the parts and pieces, and run interference for the crew so they can get the work done. Field supervisors oversee multiple projects, assisting the project foremen in step-by-step planning to ensure projects are installed on time, and in a neat and profession manner. With more than 30 trucks on the road, you know we can handle your work!
Service Department
Our Factory trained service technicians service Schneider Electric (Andover Controls) automation systems, Delta Controls automation systems, CCTV, access controls and pneumatic control systems. Our Service Department serves hundreds of clients in the D.C. Metropolitan, Baltimore and Southern Virginia areas, providing 24/7 service and response, with over $400,000 in spare parts stocked onsite for our contract customers. Custom service agreements are our specialty, with each agreement designed to meet our clients specific needs.
Support Staff
The Support Staff is responsible for payroll, accounting, building maintenance, human resources, telephone and general management. As a division, they “work for the rest of the company”. Our support staff is located in the Sterling, VA office.
